I've been building businesses across Asia for over 15 years. During that time, I ran operations across multiple countries, managed cross-cultural teams, and watched firsthand how the global talent landscape actually functions — not how it's marketed, but how it actually works day-to-day.
What I found across the Philippines, Indonesia, and Malaysia stopped me in my tracks. Extraordinarily educated, deeply professional, English-fluent workforces — and almost no Australian business knew how to properly access them. The platforms that existed were either overcomplicated freelance marketplaces or full-blown offshore agencies with enterprise price tags. Nothing in between.
As a multi-national business owner myself, I understood the problem from both sides. I knew what it took to hire well internationally — the vetting, the onboarding, the culture alignment, the ongoing management. I also knew that most Australian SME owners don't have the time, the networks, or the playbook to do it themselves.
So I built SamaStaff to be the thing I wished had existed when I started: a managed, accountable bridge between world-class professionals across Southeast Asia and Australian businesses ready to scale without the overhead of local hiring. Not a marketplace. A partner.
